ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Provide Excellent College-Preparatory Instruction to All Scholars Develop and maintain a positive, achievement-oriented, supportive, and collaborative culture of high expectations that motivates and inspires scholars to learn at college-preparatory levels. Effectively execute assigned curriculum and just-in-time supports to reach every scholar, regardless of prior academic background, disability, or English language fluency. Engage in internalizing assigned curriculum, tied to specific grade level and content standards, in teacher teams and individually to prepare daily lesson plans, instructional materials, and exit tickets aligned to rigorous college-ready standards. Use exit tickets, unit tests, interim exams, and other assessment data to determine differentiated re-teaching needed to advance all scholars toward demonstrating mastery. Collaborate with peers to ensure that all scholars receive the appropriate support, including the accommodations they need to successfully access grade-level content. Uphold Alliance Values and Standards of Excellence Provide all scholars opportunities aligned with the Alliance’s College-Ready Graduate Profile. Create a coherent and supportive classroom culture to support scholar engagement, learning, and well-being. Support Alliance’s aspiration to prepare all scholars for college, with 75% or more completing a four-year college degree. Seek opportunities, both individually and through school-based initiatives, to build strong and collaborative relationships with faculty, staff, families, scholars, and alumni.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS A California teaching credential in the assigned subject area(s) and a valid English Learner Authorization are required. Applicants who will hold any of the following credentials by their start date are welcome to apply: California Single Subject Credential in Physical Education (Clear or Preliminary). Applicants will be required to provide a copy of the credential, or, if in progress, a status letter from their credential program. California University or District Intern Credential in Physical Education. Applicants will be required to provide an intern-eligibility letter from their credential program. Equivalent Out-of-State Credential transferring to California. Applicants will be required to provide a copy of their out-of-state credential.

    • If you do not yet hold a California-equivalent English Learner Authorization, you may qualify for a temporary permit while transferring your credential.

    • School only: California Multiple Subject or Single Subject Credential with an Introductory Supplementary Authorization in Physical Education. Applicants will be required to provide a copy of the credential, or, if in progress, a status letter from their credential program.
    • Bachelor’s
    • Degree: Applicants without a credential will be required to provide a copy of their transcript for evaluation to determine eligibility for an emergency teaching permit. Applicants without a current credential or a verifiable pathway toward obtaining a California teaching credential will not be considered.
