Provide interpretation and coordinate volunteer interpreters to support clients during Braille appointments and classes. Lead weekly Tactile American Sign Language and ProTactile communication classes for DeafBlind community members (as needed). Support the Volunteer Impact Program (VIP) team with the recruitment, coordination, training, and mentoring of volunteer interpreters. Work collaboratively with the Education Programs Manager and Regional Director to make program recommendations for continuous improvement. Help greet and gather students as they arrive at the Center. Interface with staff and transportation services as needed. Provide safety recommendations and train colleagues as needed. Provide translation and coordinator support to all seven Southern California Centers as needed (some travel may be required). Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Bachelor’s degree is preferred. Knowledge and application of the National Association of the Deaf, and the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf, Code of Professional Conduct to ethical decision making and the interpreting process. Skills and Abilities: Excellent communication skills. Must demonstrate linguistic fluency and cognitive flexibility. Strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and ability to creatively solve problems.
