Derby Academy, a Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 8 co-educational day school located in Hingham, Massachusetts, seeks an enthusiastic, well-qualified candidate for the position of Lower School Instructional Assistant Teacher beginning in August 2026.

Each grade level in Derby’s Lower School has two homerooms with two Lead Teachers and one Instructional Assistant.
The Instructional Assistant supports the lead teachers to deliver high-quality differentiated instruction in literacy, mathematics, and an integrated science and social studies program, as well as provide classroom management support.
Our homeroom-based classroom culture is guided by the theory and practice of Responsive Classroom.
All teachers have responsibilities that extend beyond the classroom as well, including dining room and playground supervision and carpool support.
In addition, there are other opportunities for teaching in our enrichment or coaching in our athletics program.

The salary range for this position is $34,960 -$49,535 and is based on education and experience.
