  • Type: Part TimeBE A PART OF SOMETHING GREAT This position supports the work of the YMCA, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Responsible for instructing fitness techniques in a safe, effective, and well-balanced manner. The Personal Trainer understands the Kenosha YMCA has zero tolerance for abuse of youth in its programs by employees or volunteers and will follow child abuse prevention policies, comply with mandated reporting requirements, and cooperate with law enforcement. Job responsibilities ​​​​​Demonstrate a positive image of the YMCA to co-workers, members, and the community at large. Relate and work with parents and co-workers in a positive, professional and confident manner. Work cooperatively as a team member promoting a positive work environment. Respect rights, philosophies and strategies of staff as well as values of individual families. Treat children and families with respect and equality for all races, religions and cultures. Work cooperatively with other staff in planning and promoting YMCA activities; offering & sharing ideas, materials and resources. Handle problems and concerns through appropriate channels/chain of command. Answer e-mails/postal and voicemail correspondences within one business day of receipt. Use appropriate YMCA procedures for internal business matters. Attend staff meetings and other staff events as requested. Accept and demonstrate the four character values of caring, honesty, responsibility, and respect. Implement character development and the values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility in all programs and in the general employment environment. Follow the guidelines set for by the employee and/or supervisors handbook guidelinesFollow internal policy and procedures including general organizational administrative procedures and department specific proceduresManage time efficiently and follow through on tasks assigned.Remain open to suggestions and accept constructive criticismDemonstrate flexibility and adaptability in situations that involve change in policy and/or operations Assume full responsibility for assigned shifts, completing change of shift forms when necessary, notifying the front desk and Health Enhancement director of substitutions Attendance at staff meetings is mandatory. Assist in one special event per calendar year. Products or services that are not part of the YMCA program(s) shall not be endorsed by any employee to any member or guest whether the employee is working or not. Qualifications Current up to date nationally recognized fitness credentials Must be 18 years or older and a high school graduate or equivalent Current CPR Certification, training offered Skill and knowledge of aerobic techniques and mechanics Training and teaching experience in aerobic and physical fitness Excellent member relation and customer service skills Professional image Excellent communication skills Flexibility in work schedule Maintain a valid drivers license Background check can not contain offenses restricted by state law Daytime availability required

Requirements

Candidates must possess current, nationally recognized fitness credentials, be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent, and hold a current CPR Certification. Additional requirements include expertise in aerobic techniques, relevant training experience, excellent customer service skills, and availability during daytime hours.
