Core responsibilities
The school counselor ensures all students meet their potential academically, socially, and emotionally, focusing heavily on grades 7th through 12th, including college and career readiness and post-Secondary transition planning. Responsibilities also involve coordinating testing (Ap, sat, psat), assisting with academic planning, providing social-Emotional learning (Sel) counseling, and potentially supporting the special education department with assessments.
Requirements summary
A master's degree in counseling from a cacrep accredited school and a colorado department of education special service provider license with a school counseling endorsement are required. Candidates must also demonstrate proficiency with microsoft office, maintain professional integrity, and be able to pass a background check.
