Position Objective
Provides respiratory therapy modalities included in the scope of practice to patients according to the department standards.

- Provides clinical respiratory care as required, using respiratory care equipment and modalities in all levels of respiratory care patients (NICU, Peds, and Adults).
- 2.
- Coordinates clinical respiratory care to assure appropriateness and effectiveness of care of assigned responsibilities.
- 3.
- Oversees departmental supervisory personnel and professional staff in clinical activities and participates in quality monitoring, patient evaluation and related activities in accordance with departmental standards.

- Participates in revising Respiratory Care Services policies, procedures, and standards as requested.
- 5.
- Directs on-the-job training and participates in planning and conducting orientation and in-service programs consistent with performance objectives.
- 6.
- Directs clinical quality assurance and utilization review activities; monitors compliance with departmental standards of care.
- Participates in evaluating clinical performance of the staff.
- 7.
- Conducts intradepartmental and interdepartmental in-service and continuing education, including CPR certification and maintains records of these activities.
- 8.
- Participates in departmental process improvement initiatives (huddle, metrics, innovative ideas, etc).
- 9.
- Participates in other designated projects or roles under the direction of Respiratory Care Services leadership.
- 10.
- Exhibits qualities that are consistent with the organization’s 7 core values.
Educational/Experience Requirements
- Required: Bachelor’s Degree.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist as credentialed by the National Board for Respiratory Care with current State of Maryland Licensure or eligibility as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
- Experience in pediatric and adult critical and general respiratory care procedures. Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and concisely both verbally and in writing with individuals and groups at various organizational levels and of various disciplines.
- Preferred: Two years’ post registry by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
- Recent NICU experience preferred.
- Previous supervisory experience desired.
- Previous experience as a clinical educator or trainer.
Required License/Certifications
• Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider CPR certification.
