Core responsibilities

This role involves auditing and educating hospitalists/Nocturnists on compliant coding and billing documentation guidelines, performing individual and group documentation reviews to identify improvement opportunities. The incumbent will also develop and deliver educational programming using their coding expertise to ensure procedures accurately meet billing compliance requirements.

Requirements summary

A minimum of an associate's degree (Or two years of progressive experience in outpatient physician documentation/Risk adjustment in lieu of a degree) is required, along with five years of progressive experience in outpatient physician documentation and risk adjustment, including two years in a multi-Specialty practice. Candidates must possess one of several specified coding/Auditing certifications and have advanced knowledge of icd-10, cpt, hcpcs, and hcc risk adjustment.
