Overview
- Perform the clerical duties of the Central Receiving Facility, including answering phones, insurance verification, and processing referrals. Acts as the receptionist and assists with the maintenance of documentation, supplies, and equipment. ESSENTIAL/CORE JOB-SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Answers phone calls and directs callers as appropriate. Assists in the referral process to receiving facilities and outpatient programs. Schedules/confirms appointments as appropriate. Registers all clients into the electronic medical record and the rotation system. Monitors rotation of admissions and informs CRF staff of status of referrals as they occur. Ensures process is transparent. Verifies insurance/payer sources; copies insurance cards, identification cards. Sends information verification to the ACI insurance department for ACI admissions or to other receiving facilities. Accepts and sends information via fax as needed. Audits CRF charts to ensure all items are completed and filed in correct episode of care. Ensures episodes are closed when client leaves the CRF. Inventories and orders unit supplies (forms, office supplies, client hygiene items, etc.). Contacts maintenance via work orders regarding safety issues. Contacts housekeeping regarding unit cleanliness as needed to maintain unit order and sanitation. 12

- QualificationsEducation/Experience: A high school diploma or its equivalent. One (1) year of related work experience preferred. Ability to type at least 35 correct words per minute.
