The Parent Coordinator acts as the liaison between families and educators to implement programs ensuring children achieve high readiness for school entry while supporting parents' social and economic mobility goals. Duties include coordinating enrollment processes, making referrals for wrap-around services, monitoring progress reports, and planning family engagement events and workshops.
Candidates must have a minimum of two years of experience in early childhood education, family support, or engagement, and must be bilingual in either Spanish and English or Haitian Creole and English. A valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle are required for daily work-related travel.

The Parent Coordinator will join the Family Child Care team, reporting directly to the Director of Family Care. As a dedicated and skilled professional, the Parent Coordinator will serve as the liaison to the families and educators to foster and implement programs to ensure children in the FCC program reach a high degree of readiness for school entry with parents receiving the support they need to thrive in their families social and economic mobility goals. All FCC program staff members are considered mandated reporters and will be supported with the requisite training as needed. This role is ideal for someone passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of family-based education with families striving for higher heights.
Meet with all newly enrolled families and refer them to internal Economic Prosperity Services for wrap around services. Support FCC enrollment, reassessment, transfers, termination and transportation processes. Coordinate early intervention activities and make referrals to internal Case Management team and monitor external agency involvement. Coordinate ASQ and EEC progress reports. Coordinate BPS and School referrals. Plan and conduct a variety of outreach strategies to recruit families and engage their participation. Produce a monthly newsletter to distribute resources for parents. Follow up individually with parents on parent fees. Cultivate and maintain relationships with community resource agencies and other partners. Maintain accurate, timely records, enter client data into database and prepare reports. Support home visits to our educators' homes as needed. Plan and facilitate events/workshops for families. Events will combine enrichment activities (e.g. STEM, arts and crafts), a chance for parents to build community, hear from guest speakers, and take advantage of internal mobility programs offered by JPNDC (including career and financial literacy coaching). Other duties assigned by supervisor.
Required: Minimum 2 years' experience working in early childhood education, family support and/or engagement. Ability to work a flexible schedule with occasional evening and weekend availability Bilingual in Spanish and English or Haitian Creole and English. Valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle required for daily work-related travel Must be a team player.
Associate's degree or equivalent experience in Early Education, Family Studies, Child Development, Psychology, Human Services or related field. Experience planning/leading two-generation family-centered activities and interactive workshops for adults with a familiarity with relevant community resources. Strong organizational, written and verbal communication, presentation and interpersonal skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Internet, client databases, and using technology to facilitate virtual sessions.
This is a full-time, salaried position with a generous benefit package. Salary range is $55,000 - $60,000.
