The Camp Counselor assists in supervising and leading campers through daily activities while ensuring a safe, nurturing environment and actively promoting the YMCA core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility. Essential duties include enforcing safety regulations, maintaining cleanliness, assisting activity specialists and lifeguards, tracking attendance, and participating in all required staff training and meetings.
Candidates must be at least 16 years old by June 15th and available for the summer season from late June through early September. Preferred qualifications include prior camp staff experience or equivalent experience supervising children, a positive attitude, high integrity, and the ability to follow directions and work cohesively in a team setting.
The Camp Counselor aids in supervising and effectively leading a group of campers in daily camp activities. Camp Counselors provide a safe and nurturing environment for campers and are actively involved and have a positive attitude about all camp activities.
