- Description: Assist with a wide variety of tasks and processes involved in the day-to-day operations of Athletic Academic Services. Our interns must be able to problem-solve and make ethical and policy-based decisions. They must have strong communication skills and the ability to connect with individuals from diverse educational, cultural, and economic backgrounds. They should be strong in their written, verbal, and listening skills and work both independently and collaboratively with the academic team. The ability to teach academic success strategies, work with students who are academically at-risk and demonstrate evidence of programming success around academic competencies is essential.

- Duties/Responsibilities: Meet with an assigned caseload of students to assist in developing academic skills as it relates to time management, organization, test preparation, etc. Assist with the development and implementation of training sessions for tutors Learn and utilize Navigate, ARMS, TeamWorks, TeamWorks Academics, PeopleSoft, UM Data Warehouse, and Compliance Assistant Coordinate services to proactively address the academic needs of student-athletes (i.e., learning disabilities’ identification/testing, tutoring, etc.) Create and update administrative reports, including academic grade reports, study hall reports, and daily reports related to progress and behavior Assist with educational testing and the process of applying for and monitoring accommodations Monitor and track student-athlete class assignments, grades and feedback from professors Supervise study hall program Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel Must be available some evenings and weekends
