Job description
Seeking experienced Family Support Specialists to work with kiddos in a community setting. Our clients come from a variety of backgrounds and require a trauma-informed approach to service delivery. You will gain extensive knowledge and understanding of mental and behavioral health issues. We will provide monthly ongoing psychosocial training to increase your abilities and capacity to work with at-risk youth.

Must pass a full FBI/Adam Walsh/ and CANS background check through the Department of Family Services. Background check costs are not reimbursed.
If you have any previous arrests within the last 7 years that are not only limited to DUIs, CPS, or Domestic Violence you DO NOT qualify for this position. Employer randomly drug tests (Including Marijuana) No Exceptions
Take Note
This position will require you to obtain a full DFS County background and Reference check, Nevada Residence fee is $45, and out-of-state residents relocating to Nevada will have additional fees, TB, CPR, and internal testing before beginning your contract with the agency. We do not cover the costs for any of the aforementioned testing or clearances so some up-front costs exist. However, we can provide up to 30 hours per week with the possibly of transitioning to FT after 90 days if you meet all expectations and engage in quality services with our clients.

Providing skills and teaching 1

Providing interventions on improving basic living skills and social skills including interpersonal functioning, communication skills, parent training, etc. Working with the identified client and his/her family using a psycho-educational approach along with behavior modification and insight-oriented counseling. Attend Monthly Supervision Must be proficient in clinical terminology and have the ability to write clear and concise notes on client interactions Must have proficient knowledge of software Job hours may require after-hours Crisis Intervention as we work with children (Typical Hours are 2 PM to 8 PM Daily) Have a general sense of Trauma-Informed Practices - We are willing to teach as well Engage Training is Required Must be Flexible

E Lake Mead Pkwy, Henderson, NV 89015 Fingerprinting for Background check costs begin at $45 for Nevada residents. Out-of-state residents will have additional costs depending on the state.
Education and Professional Work Experience Requirements
We require you to have one of the following Bachelor's Degrees and/or a similar degree with at least 2 years of experience working with children. Psychology Social Work Anthropology Sociology Human Development and Family Studies Nursing Community Health Sciences or Health Ecology Early Childhood Education Education Criminal Justice Public Health
Preferred
