Immaculate Conception Catholic School, Union is seeking a Preschool Substitute Teacher to provide a nurturing, safe, and developmentally supportive learning environment for children ages 3–5 when the regular classroom teacher is absent. Key Responsibilities
Follow lesson plans and daily routines provided by the preschool teacher or school staff.
Use age‑appropriate, play‑based activities to support early literacy, numeracy, motor skills, social development, and independence.
Encourage creativity and exploration through storytelling, singing, hands‑on activities, centers, and guided play.
Adapt activities to meet the developmental needs and learning styles of individual children.
Maintain a warm, respectful, and structured classroom environment that fosters emotional, social, and behavioral growth.
Establish and reinforce consistent routines, including transitions, cleanup, and quiet time.
Use positive behavior‑guidance strategies to support appropriate behavior and gently redirect misbehavior.
Promote cooperation, participation, and positive peer interactions.

A high school diploma is required, though coursework or a degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development is preferred. Prior experience with preschool-aged children is strongly preferred, along with demonstrated patience and strong communication skills.
