  • Range: $33,000.00 - $55,000.00 Salary/yearMiddle School Mathematics Teacher James Irwin Charter Middle School is currently seeking a full-time Math teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. The successful candidate will have a 10-period day with four math classes, one study hall, and one elective period. Candidates are not required to have an education degree, be licensed, or have prior teaching experience. Generous benefits package, part of which includes 100% of the medical and dental premium paid by the employer, $25,000 life insurance, and a laptop computer checked out to the teacher.
  • Days worked: 191 Robust teacher development and training program. Candidates who are selected to interview may be asked to teach a sample lesson to students, faculty, and administration. The successful candidate should… Have advanced knowledge and mastery of mathematics from pre-algebra to Algebra I and be willing to demonstrate mastery by taking a brief written test Be familiar with and commit to using the Saxon and Direct Instruction (Siegfried Engelmann) methodologies Be willing to work with a team of math faculty who provide consistent teaching methods and assessments throughout all math classes at JICMS Integrate character into lessons as appropriate and always exhibit the highest character traits, especially in the company of students Be committed to always doing what is best for students The successful candidate should also be prepared to… Maintain detailed, accurate student records Monitor a study hall as assigned Perform other duties as assigned (e.g., traffic duty, detention) Volunteer occasionally to chaperone student activities (e.g., dances, games) The successful candidate should possess the following skills and abilities: Support James Irwin Charter Schools’ mission, vision, and values Support and follow all JICS policies and procedures Be a self-advocating, quick learner Have excellent organizational and communication skills Build effective relationships with staff, students, and families Be proficient in Microsoft Office and general technology use Demonstrate strong time management and professionalism Maintain a calm, professional demeanor under pressure Maintain a positive, solution-based attitude

Candidates must demonstrate subject matter competency through at least one of the following: Earning an endorsement in the assigned field; Holding a degree in the assigned field; Passing a Colorado content test in the assigned field (Praxis); Earning 36 semester hours in the assigned field; or Earning National Board

  • Salary: Candidates with a Bachelor's degree start at $45,000 per year. Candidates with a Master's degree start at $50,000 per year, and candidates with a Doctorate start at $55,000 per year. Candidates who meet Colorado ESSA "In-Field" requirements without a bachelor's degree may be considered starting at $35,000. To qualify as "In-Field," candidates must meet one of the following in the subject area: an endorsement, a degree, 36 semester credit hours, or a passing Praxis exam. James Irwin Charter Schools does not provide salary credit for prior years of experience. Salary placement is based solely on the highest degree earned and applicable qualifications.
