About the Role

PanCare of Florida is seeking a compassionate and skilled Mobile Dental Hygienist to join our mission-driven team. In this role, you’ll provide high-quality preventive dental care to children across local school sites during the academic year using our state-of-the-art mobile dental unit. During the summer months, you’ll transition to serving patients at our Panama City Dental Clinic.

What You’ll Do

As a Mobile Dental Hygienist, you will

  • Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling, periodontal probing, and related preventive procedures
  • Apply topical anesthesia as needed to support dentist-performed procedures
  • Educate children and patients on proper oral hygiene and preventive care
  • Expose radiographs at appropriate clinical intervals
  • Maintain accurate dental and patient records
  • Ensure mobile unit equipment, treatment rooms, and supplies are clean, stocked, and prepared
  • Assist in planning and conducting oral health education programs
  • Participate in ongoing program quality improvement and compliance activities
  • Support research, outreach initiatives, or community assessments as needed
  • Foster a positive, patient-centered experience for children, families, and school partners

Skills & Qualifications

Required

  • Current Florida Dental Hygiene License (Florida Statute 466 compliant)
  • Active CPR certification
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Comfort working in school, mobile, or community-based settings
  • Knowledge & Core Competencies
  • Dental hygiene principles and clinical best practices

Physical & Environmental Requirements

This position may require

  • Standing, walking, or bending for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds (equipment or supplies)
  • Working in varying temperatures or compact workspaces (mobile unit environment)
  • Maintaining a calm, supportive demeanor when working with children or during school clinic demands
  • Good visual acuity and fine motor dexterity for clinical procedures
