Early Head Start Classroom Assistant

The classroom assistant ensures the safety and security of young children (6 weeks to 5 years old) in the classroom, develops positive family relationships, and assists staff with planning and executing student activities. This role also involves maintaining classroom order, providing coverage for teacher absences, and participating in meal preparation and cleanup.

Candidates must be able to interact well with young children, remain calm in emergencies, and work effectively as a team member with diverse clients. Enrollment in or completion of the child development associate (Cda) certification is required within six months of hire unless the candidate already holds an early childhood teacher qualification or an ece-Related degree.
