About the role

The Sign Language Aide will provide instructional and communication support to students within the DHH-TC program. The role involves assisting with classroom activities and ensuring effective communication for students who are deaf or hard of hearing.

  • Program: DHH-TC *This position is available for the 2026-2027 school year. Position Requirements Education, Training, and Experience 1. High school graduation or other equivalent (General Educational Development [GED], foreign equivalency, etc.). 2. Minimum of 48 credit hours from an accredited college or university, or; A passing score on the Educational Testing Service (ETS) ParaPro assessment. 3. Signing abilities as determined by a Clark County School District (CCSD) - approved test. Licenses and Certifications 1. Current CPR/AED certificate from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or similar organization. Certification must be maintained for duration of assignment. Certification training must be in-person and include a hands-on component. Online courses will not be accepted. A copy of the front and back of the CPR/AED certificate must be uploaded into the application. Document(s) Required at Time of Application 1. High school transcript or other equivalent (GED, foreign equivalency, etc.). 2. College transcript(s) from an accredited college or university, if applicable. 3. Current CPR/AED certificate as indicated above. A copy of the front and back of the CPR/AED certificate must be uploaded into the application. 4. Specific documented evidence of training and experience to satisfy qualifications.

Requirements

Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and at least 48 college credit hours or a passing score on the ParaPro assessment. Additionally, applicants must demonstrate proficiency in sign language and hold a current in-person CPR/AED certification.
