Candidates must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or ged, along with one year of professional teaching experience in child care, daycare, or preschool settings. A cda, associate, or bachelor's degree in early education or a related field is required, as is demonstrated knowledge of developmentally appropriate practice (Dap).
