Core responsibilities
The special education teacher will lead instruction for students with individualized education plans (Ieps) by designing personalized learning experiences, delivering targeted instruction, and integrating innovative resources within the learning center or classroom. Responsibilities also include creating an inclusive environment, reinforcing behavior strategies like pbis, tracking student progress, and managing iep development and implementation.
Requirements summary
Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree or higher in education or a related field and hold or be in the process of obtaining a valid washington state teaching credential with a special education endorsement. Required experience includes curriculum development, differentiation, instruction, and knowledge of special education compliance, particularly for various disabilities and ieps.
