Preschool Teacher-Part Time

Position Summary

  • Responsible for providing quality enrichment in early childhood education and care that expands children’s experiences, extends their learning, and provides warm and caring support while achieving the goals and objectives of curriculum.
  • Assists Preschool Director with the planning and instruction of daily classroom lessons and activities
  • Designs creative lesson plans to compliment program objectives
  • Establishes routines and provides positive guidance while building children’s self-esteem
  • Monitors classroom behavior, recognizes children’s needs, and adapts to problems using appropriate behavior management and positive discipline
  • Develops and maintains effective communication and positive relationships
  • Assists with financial responsibilities (collecting and processing preschool tuition payments, forms, etc.)
  • Teaching skills; creativity
  • Decision making, problem solving, and time management skills
  • Above average interpersonal skills, written/oral communication skills and an ability to work with a wide variety of people and circumstances

Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Degree in Early Childhood Education preferred but not required
  • Current certification in CPR
  • Must be able to exert up to twenty-five pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects when needed.
  • Physical demands are in excess of those for sedentary work; must be able to remain on feet for extended periods of time.
