Bishop Flaget School Kindergarten Teacher Full-Time Catholic Preferred but Not Required Bishop Flaget School, located at 570 Parsons Avenue in Chillicothe, Ohio, is seeking a Kindergarten Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year.

Position Summary

  • The Kindergarten Teacher is responsible for providing a structured, joyful, and academically rich learning environment that nurtures students’ intellectual, spiritual, and moral development. The successful candidate will establish strong foundations in literacy, numeracy, and faith while fostering curiosity, independence, and a love for learning. Familiarity with or training in the Montessori Method and/or Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) is strongly preferred. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive kindergarten curriculum aligned with the school’s Catholic liberal education mission
  • Establish strong foundations in reading, writing, mathematics, and faith formation
  • Integrate Catholic principles, prayer, and virtue education into daily instruction
  • Create a joyful, structured, and engaging classroom environment
  • Have attended or be willing to attend a Virtus Protecting God's Children training [https://columbuscatholic.org/safe]
  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs
  • Assess and document student progress
  • Communicate effectively with families
  • Collaborate with faculty to support the holistic formation of students
  • Participate in professional development, faculty meetings, and school events
  • Model and uphold the mission and identity of Bishop Flaget School

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field
  • Hold an appropriate Ohio Teaching License (Professional, Permanent, or Resident Educator) or be eligible to obtain one before beginning to teach
  • Prior kindergarten or early elementary teaching experience preferred
  • Current satisfactory BCI & FBI background checks
  • Familiarity with or training in Montessori and/or CGS strongly preferred
  • Commitment to Catholic education and classical formation
  • Strong classroom management and organizational skills
  • Ability to integrate faith across the curriculum
  • Practicing Catholic preferred
