Job description

Anchor Academy is a therapeutic day school that specializes in trauma-informed services for students ages 10-22 with complex trauma histories, mental health issues, educational challenges, and/or behavioral difficulties. We use the evidenced based treatment model - ARC to help students build positive relationships, learn self-regulation skills, and transform their individual interests into sources of strength, resiliency and success.

During Your Internship You Will

  • Carry a caseload of 3-4 students and provide individual counseling through the ARC model and trauma-informed lens
  • Work with students toward their individualized IEP/treatment goals and track progress
  • Co-lead psychoeducational clinical groups
  • Collaborate with students, school districts, caregivers and community providers
  • Provide in-the-moment crisis management when needed
  • Complete all documentation related to case management, IEP development and data tracking

Requirements

  • Minimum working towards a Master’s degree in the social work or psychology field (LCSW, LICSW, LMHC or LMFT). We will accept 1st or 2nd year students.
  • Both LICSW and LMHC supervision available/supervision by an LICSW/LMHC.
  • Our program has availability for the full academic school year of August/September through May.
  • Clinical interest in working with children/adolescents is required and familiarity with trauma informed models of treatment preferred.
  • Good written and oral communication skills are necessary.
  • Background and driving record checks will be performed.
