Are you the Transition Coach we have been looking for? In this position, you will be able to convey your passion for helping others with a dynamic team by bringing an energetic and positive approach while working with our students!

Granite Academy is a dynamic, strength-based day school serving middle and high school students whose social-emotional needs impact their learning experience. Our staff provide flexible, individualized programming and are dedicated to meeting the needs of our students, their families, and the public-school systems.

We have an 11-month school year (202 days) and are located on a beautiful campus in Braintree, MA. Our team works with students individually and in small groups to support their full engagement in academic, vocational, social, and recreational activities that promote skill development, emotional well-being, and movement towards graduation.

Schedule

This position will start in July/August.

Compensation

The pay range for this position is $22.00 to $25.00 per hour. The listed range reflects what we reasonably and in good faith expect to pay for this role at the time of posting the position. The actual compensation an employee is offered may vary based on several factors such as experience, education, licensure, certifications and qualifications. This range may be modified in the future.

Your day-to-day work will support students in developing a sense of self and provide them the skills to be successful in their next steps.

  • YOU will be able to create safe and therapeutic community experiences by supporting students’ personal development and by role modeling effective coping strategies.
  • YOU will work collaboratively with educational, clinical, nursing and vocational team members to ensure students meet their goals.
  • YOU will support the transition coordinator’s curriculum across the classroom, on site programming and off site programming to help students prepare for an independent, successful life.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, such as education, counseling or psychology required.
  • Prior experience in a mental health setting strongly preferred.
  • Activity planning and community outreach experience preferred.
  • Maintains valid driver’s license as transporting students is required.
  • Available to work evenings, holidays, weekend shifts as required.
  • At JRI, you will learn to provide physical interventions and verbal de-escalations to provide the safest therapeutic atmosphere for our students!
  • Background and driving record checks will be performed.
