Job Summary
The Jupiter Christian School Elementary Teacher is a spiritually mature, Christ-centered educator who understands and lives out the mission and philosophy of Jupiter Christian School. The teacher will model Christian character and leadership both in and out of the classroom, demonstrating a love for students and a passion for teaching God’s truth.
Under general supervision, the Elementary Teacher develops and implements engaging curricula, fosters an inspiring learning environment, integrates a biblical worldview into all subjects, and encourages students to grow spiritually, academically, socially, and emotionally.
Duties and Responsibilities
Teach and supervise elementary students in a self-contained classroom as part of a collaborative teaching team.
Develop lesson plans and deliver instruction that aligns with JCS curriculum guides, incorporating biblical integration and differentiated learning.
Foster a positive and safe classroom atmosphere that supports spiritual, academic, and social-emotional growth.
Utilize technology and innovative instructional practices, including STEAM principles and project-based learning.
Establish learning experiences that promote curiosity, critical thinking, and digital literacy.
Assess and monitor student performance; communicate progress, goals, and expectations with students, parents, and administrators.
Collaborate with colleagues to design authentic, learner-driven activities and share best instructional practices.
Support school programs, special events, and community outreach efforts.
Participate in grade-level meetings, professional development, and committees as assigned.
Serve in a “Plus-One” role, contributing to the broader life and mission of the school.
Qualifications
Spiritual
Must have a clear testimony of personal faith in Jesus Christ as Savior.
Must demonstrate active membership and involvement in a local evangelical church.
Must support and align with the Jupiter Christian School Mission, Vision, and Statement of Faith.
Education and Experience
Required
Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from an accredited institution.
Preferred
Master’s Degree in Education.
Minimum of one year of relevant teaching experience; five years preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong classroom management and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to design and implement curriculum and instructional strategies that meet diverse learner needs.
Knowledge of educational technology and integration of digital tools into instruction.
