About the role

The faculty member will observe, instruct, and evaluate students in clinical and/or laboratory settings, providing timely feedback on their performance and communicating with clinical site personnel regarding student progress and program expectations. Responsibilities also include maintaining current professional knowledge, attending meetings, participating in course material review, and preparing for accreditation reports.

Work Mode

This position requires regular in-person presence on campus and at alternative locations, depending on class schedule and other assigned duties.

Work Schedule: Monday- Friday, variable hours in the day/evening; Limited weekend shifts

Position Type: Part-Time Faculty, Non-Exempt

Position Summary

Observe, instruct and evaluate students in the clinical setting and/or laboratory setting on a weekly to bi-weekly basis; Provide timely feedback to students on their clinical performance; Communicate with clinical site personnel regarding student performance and program expectations; Submit all required clinical assessments to the Clinical Coordinator; Respond in a timely manner to emails, information requests, and required clinical assessments; Attend off-campus locations with on-campus presence as needed; Participate in assessment process, as appropriate; Maintain current knowledge of the professional discipline; Maintain national registry and state licensing credentials; Attend and participate in faculty meetings as well as program related activities as necessary; Comply with the current clinical partner's on boarding requirements and AACC's employment requirements; Participate in periodic review and revision of course materials and learning outcomes assessments; Participate in preparation for JRCERT accreditation reports and site visits as necessary; Maintain confidentiality of student information; Enforce appropriate rules and expectations of students in clinical, lab, or simulation that comply with AACC Radiologic Technology Department policies and procedures; Prepare and maintain course outlines, objectives and course syllabi as necessary.

Required Qualifications

Must meet the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) qualifications for adjunct faculty including:

  • 1.
  • Hold academic and/or professional credentials appropriate to the subject content area taught; 2.
  • Knowledgeable of course development, instruction, evaluation, and academic advising; 3.
  • Hold current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification and registration, or equivalent, in radiography; 4.
  • Licensed in Maryland to practice Radiography; 5.
  • Hold current CPR certification; 6.
  • Ability to work with individuals of diverse backgrounds; 7.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally through both verbal and written skills

Preferred Qualifications

Requirements

Candidates must meet JRCERT qualifications for adjunct faculty, including holding appropriate academic/professional credentials and knowledge of course development and instruction. Required credentials include current ARRT certification, Maryland Radiography licensure, and current CPR certification.
