The University Student Assistant is responsible for supporting the First and Second Year Experience Office operations, which includes assisting with administrative tasks like reviewing reports and creating student packets. Additionally, the role involves significant support for major special events such as Gamecock Orientation and Freshman Convocation.
$8.25 per hour (Max 26 hours per week)
The University Student Assistant Employee is responsible for First and Second Year Experience Office operations and is responsible for assisting with special events within the Student Success Center including, but not limited to: Gamecock Orientation, Freshman Convocation, Preview Day, Admitted Student Day, etc.
Positions may be filled based on individual applicants’ skills, qualifications, and departmental needs.
Adheres to all department and University policies and procedures.
Knowledge of general University policies and procedures.
Knowledge of Student services and programs on campus.
Knowledge of the Student Success Center responsibilities and major events.
Ability to read and comprehend written materials encountered on the job.
Ability to gather and analyze information in order to make recommendations.
Ability to work in a team atmosphere with minimal supervision.
Ability to learn and adapt to changing situations and requirements.
Ability to set goals and objectives and develop strategies to achieve those goals.
