Position Summary
The CLC Support Specialist is responsible for providing a safe, positive, developmentally appropriate learning environment for sixth through eighth grade students. This employee will oversee and implement interactive activities and clubs, approved by the Site Director and work in tandem to offer enrichment opportunities aligned with the Malone Center mission and vision. Essential Job Functions Champion the Malone Center mission and vision in all engagements and interactions, both internal and external to the organization. Supervise and mentor program youth while modeling appropriate behavior and language. Participates in activities and club opportunities that encourage active participation. Actively build relationships with the youth and community we are serving. Lead group activities as needed or requested. Report and submit all incidents and accidents with the Site Supervisor/Program Director. Assist Club Leaders and Community partners with daily programing; actively mitigating and preventing unwanted behaviors. Monitor Entrance and Exit points to ensure safety and security. Provide positive interactions and behavior management through positive reinforcement, reminders, redirection, and restorative justice practices. Perform daily opening and closing tasks to completion. Maintain the cleanliness of all indoor and outdoor program areas. Assist with family engagement and home-school-community partnerships. Engage in other duties as assigned. Education and Experience High school diploma or GED. Demonstrated experience serving children and families from marginalized communities. Ability to develop rapport with diverse populations. Required Qualifications Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Attend all mandatory trainings. Pre-employment background checks and fingerprinting Valid Nebraska driver’s license and acceptable driving record. CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
