The direct support professional 2 assists children and young adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities in their daily routines and activities, ensuring their health and safety. They also implement individualized support programs and participate in team planning to promote skill development and personal goals.

Candidates must have a high school diploma or ged, with some college preferred, and experience working with special needs individuals is advantageous. Cpr and basic first aid certifications are preferred, along with the ability to complete required training and demonstrate competency in safety and physical interventions.
