Direct Support Professional 1

The direct support professional 1 provides services focused on helping children and young adults with developmental disabilities live fulfilling lives by following a person-Centered model of care. Responsibilities include assisting with daily needs, health maintenance, skill development, behavior support, advocacy, and operational support within the living units and community.

Candidates must possess a high school diploma or ged, with some college preferred, and previous experience working with special needs children or young adults is preferred. The role requires passing competency assessments in person centered practice and safety care concepts, holding a valid driver's license, and being physically capable of lifting up to thirty-Five pounds and using adaptive equipment.
