Expected pay for this position is $26.99 - $31.75/hour.

Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity.

This is an Hourly position.

Overview

Position Summary

The Pastoral Care Professional is an integral part of a Pastoral Care team that embraces a model of care for the whole person – body, mind and spirit. Directed to the spiritual dimensions of the human person that are often appreciated more deeply during times of illness, pastoral care is an integral part of the patient care team. Pastoral Care Professionals are effectively integrated with patient care and family support services on patient care throughout OSF. A foundational focus of Pastoral Care is to serve as a pastoral and spiritual support to patients, care givers and patient care teams in ways they identify as meaningful and helpful. Through professional training and certification, the Pastoral Care Professional assists patients/families to understand more fully life's events as they relate to their spiritual and emotional well-being.

Qualifications

Required qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college, university, seminary or divinity school.

Experience

  • Successful completion of two units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) from an approved OSF CPE provider or completion within one year of hire.

  • Knowledge: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented. Solid standing in the Church through ecclesiastical endorsement. Must meet requirements of the local Catholic Diocese regarding the appointment pastoral care staff of a Catholic healthcare institution. Ability and desire to work with patients/family, clergy, staff and volunteers of varying faith backgrounds. Flexibility in work hours, programs, and services and the ability to take on-call shifts nights and weekends as needed Ability to articulate the Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Care Facilities. Preferred Qualifications

Education: Master’s degree from an accredited college, university, seminary or divinity school or acceptable equivalent.

Experience

  • Successful completion of four units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) from an approved OSF CPE provider.
