Core responsibilities
The orientation and mobility specialist will provide direct services to prek-12 students, including conducting assessments, developing and implementing individualized education plans (Ieps), and evaluating student progress. Responsibilities also involve collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, assessing campus safety, and recommending environmental modifications for travel routes.
Requirements summary
A bachelor's degree is required, with a graduate degree in orientation & mobility or vision studies preferred, and coms certification (Acvrep) required or preferred. Candidates should possess at least one year of experience in a school setting, knowledge of o&m assessments, and strong organizational and communication skills.
