Job Description
Family Support Partners are responsible for providing peer support to parents and caregivers of children with special emotional, behavioral, and/or mental health needs. This position reports to the Family Support Partner Coordinator.
Responsibilities
Build supportive relationships with parents and guardians of children receiving CMO services and referred to the Family Support Organization of Hunterdon, Somerset & Warren Counties. Learn, understand, and practice the Wraparound Model. Educate families on values and principles of the System of Care. Support families as appropriate at Child/Family Team (CFT) meetings, by ensuring the family voice is heard and incorporated into the ISP planning and implementation. Provide direct advocacy for families by participating in Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings, court hearings, and other meetings as requested by the families. Coach families on techniques on self-advocacy. Assist families in understanding and navigating the child welfare, mental health, juvenile justice, and education systems. Act as a referral resource to parents and caregivers. Other responsibilities as they relate to providing peer-to-peer support. Assist with support groups and events as needed. Maintain detailed written records as required. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
High school Diploma Must be a parent or caregiver with a child who has intellectual, mental health, or developmental disabilities. Must have current or previous experience or navigation with PerformCare and Tri-County CMO. A valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and current certificate of car insurance, as one will be traveling to families between the three counties: Hunterdon, Somerset, and Warren Counties.

Salary Range
The salary range for this position is $40,000 yearly at $20.51 per hour.
