The Lifeguard/Swim Lesson Instructor is responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of all participants in the aquatic environment at Andrus. This dual role includes maintaining vigilant supervision of the pool area as a lifeguard and delivering high-quality swim lessons that cater to the diverse needs of participants. The ideal candidate will possess a strong knowledge of water safety protocols, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing inclusive and engaging instruction to individuals of all ages and abilities.
Plan, organize, and conduct swim lessons for individuals and groups, catering to a wide range of ages and skill levels.
Adapt teaching methods to accommodate varying abilities and learning styles, ensuring all participants feel supported and encouraged.
Communicate effectively with participants, parents, and caregivers to provide progress updates and address any concerns.
Maintain a positive and inclusive atmosphere that promotes confidence, skill development, and a love for swimming.
Collaborate with the Therapeutic Recreation Director to develop and implement specialized programs or events as needed.
Must possess ability to sit, stand, walk, run, climb stairs, and kneel.
