Job Summary

  • This is a part-time, year-round Counseling Center Staff position at the Salus campus in Elkins Park.
  • The position will work 20 hours per week.
  • This position will provide culturally informed direct client care to students.
  • This person will also engage in consultation services; may provide supervision to trainees and share crisis on-call responsibilities.
  • This position works primarily in-person and may provide virtual therapy services.
  • Participate in general Student Affairs functions as a member of an Office within Student Success.
  • Essential Functions
  • Provide culturally informed individual counseling, group therapy, initial assessments, crisis intervention, and referral services to students.
  • Demonstrate commitment, skill and experience in diversity and inclusion programming and clinical expertise in working with traditionally underserved or marginalized populations.
  • Provide consultation to faculty, staff and administration regarding students.
  • Facilitate psycho-educational groups, support groups, and conduct workshops on mental health-related topics.
  • May provide supervision to trainees.
  • Maintain APA professional ethics in all areas.
  • Participate in clinical supervision.
  • Attend Counseling Center Staff meetings; divisional meetings as needed.
  • Additional tasks as assigned by Executive Director.
  • Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of a Master of Social Work or LCSW or the equivalent combination of education and work experience. (Please review the Equivalency Chart [https://drexel.edu/hr/career/ducomp/equivalency/] for additional information.)
  • Active Pennsylvania licensed or ability to be Pennsylvania-license within the first 90 days of employment.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience providing personal counseling, crisis intervention, assessment and consultation, preferable with late adolescent/early adult population and non-traditional students.
  • Commitment and experience working with students with multiple marginalized intersecting identities, international students, veterans; Specifically providing culturally informed counseling, crisis intervention and consultation

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to work evenings once a week.

This position is classified as Non-Exempt, grade K. Compensation for this grade ranges from $26.16 - $39.24 per hour.
