About the Role

As a Lifeguard at Sagemont Preparatory School, you will play a critical role in maintaining a safe, structured, and engaging aquatic environment for campers. You will actively supervise all pool activities, ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times while creating a positive and enjoyable experience for students. You will also: Maintain active supervision of the pool area at all times, ensuring camper safety Rotate through standing, sitting, and walking positions to maintain visibility and alertness Enforce all pool rules and respond quickly and effectively to any safety concerns or emergencies Coordinate with camp counselors to support scheduled swim times and activities Conduct daily pool and safety checks to ensure a clean, safe environment Support general camp operations, including transitions, supervision, and activities outside of the pool as needed Serve as a positive role model through professionalism, engagement, and teamwork Attend all required staff meetings and trainings

  • What We’re Looking For Current Lifeguard certification (American Red Cross, YMCA, or equivalent), including CPR/AED and First Aid Must be at least 18 years of age to meet safety and supervision requirements.
  • Previous lifeguarding experience preferred Experience working with children in a camp, school, or recreational setting preferred Strong attention to safety, situational awareness, and decision-making skills Clear communication and ability to work collaboratively with staff and students Reliable, professional, and able to maintain a high level of responsibility in an active environment Ability to meet all applicable Florida school background screening requirements Interest in potential longer-term or school-year employment is a plus To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
