As part of our commitment to the development of the next generation of Behavioral Health care providers we are actively looking for individuals currently enrolled in their Master’s Program with an emphasis in Counseling. We may also accept Bachelor's Program interns that have an internship requirement as part of their educational requirements. This is an unpaid experiential learning internship position. Please answer all screening questions detailing your University/College, the program you are currently enrolled in, the semester with dates that you are seeking a learning opportunity for, and the required credentials of a qualified Supervisor/Preceptor and join us in our mission to inspire change for life. The Student would be working in partnership with Boys and Girls Club of the Valley (Yuma branch) operating within an inspired model of care based on a proven approach to trauma-healing treatment for club members K-12.
  • Location hours: 10am-7pm
  • Work schedule: M-F 1pm-7pm, flexible within this range Under the supervision of a qualified Terros Health professional; the student-intern will perform tasks related to their specific area of study and the Intern learning Contract. In a highly professional healthcare setting provided by Terros Health; the student will be given an opportunity to apply, and continue to learn by practical application the principals, theory, and knowledge from their related course work. This position is to provide support for basic duties of the Wellness Coach (Children Behavioral Health Technicians) and to help co-facilitate Whole Child Approach (WCA) programming. Upon completion of the program, the student will have learned how to support the

  • Coach in the following duties: Developing session plans and co-facilitating WCA programming activities with groups of Club members. Emotion/behavior coaching and skill teaching to Club members. Developing and co-facilitating training related to various trauma-informed care topics for Club staff. Developing and co-facilitating family education/engagement events for Club families. Tabling and community support in Yuma and assisting with documentation and data collection related to improving the WCA program. We encourage you to apply to the Terros Health Student Program. The students will come away with a strong partnership with established site, Wellness Coach, and Boys & Girls Club staff at the Yuma Branch.
  • Qualifications
  • Applicants will possess the following attributes: Takes initiative, is willing to collaborate with a team to support the partnership between Terros Health and Boys & Girls Clubs of the Valley in Yuma, effective and efficient communication. Basic understanding of behavioral health Applicant must be currently enrolled in a supervised field instruction class. Graduate level Counseling program. Excellent written, and verbal communication skills. Strong presentation skills are highly desired. Knowledge of Microsoft Office. Completion of the pre-student/Intern/Practicum onboarding process as determined solely at the discretion of Terros Health, which may include a criminal background check, and a pre-employment drug screen Must have a valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance card or apply for an Arizona fingerprint clearance card (Level 1) within 7 working days of assuming role

Requirements

Applicants must be currently enrolled in a graduate-level Counseling program or a Bachelor's program with an internship requirement. They should possess effective communication skills, a basic understanding of behavioral health, and complete the onboarding process, including a background check.
