Create a healthy, safe learning environment that demonstrates respect for all and supports student success. Communicate and partner effectively with parents to support student learning. Evaluate student learning and adapt to evaluation data to continually improve our academic program.

  • Working within a collaborative, team environment,
  • Teachers will: Develop and teach curriculum in assigned subject area(s) within an integrated, theme-based program. Incorporate constructivist instructional methods into a standards-based program. Design, deliver, review, and revise assessments in order to learn from and improve curriculum and instruction in a data-driven, constructivist teaching environment. Curriculum and Instruction Plan and implement an integrated curriculum for assigned grade levels based upon the California State Standards and Common Core. Create and maintain a classroom environment that supports learning utilizing constructivist methods. Identify, select, and modify instructional resources to meet the needs of students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs. Maintain effective and efficient record-keeping procedures. Provide assessment data to School Leadership as requested in a timely manner. Collaborate with peers (grade level, department, enrichment, special ed., etc) in order to enhance the instructional environment. Assume responsibility for meeting student performance goals and working with the faculty to meet defined achievement goals. Classroom Management, Relationships, and Tone Build personal relationships with all students that demonstrate respect and compassion. Maintain a classroom atmosphere that is safe, accepting, positive, and interactive. Create opportunities for students to learn with and from each other through varied groupings, partnerships, and shared learning experiences. Involve students in classroom processes, including, but not limited to, creating class rules, accepting classroom responsibilities, understanding the consequences of misbehavior, communicating effectively about problems and conflicts, and developing the skills to solve problems independently. Communications Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with students, parents, and other professionals on a regular basis. Respond to parent and colleague communications in a respectful and timely manner. Complete and submit quarterly progress reports and/or narratives in a timely manner. Professionalism and Teamwork Participate professionally in scheduled meetings (grade level, faculty, Whole Child Assessments, Professional Development, etc.). Model professional behaviors and ethical standards when dealing with students, parents, peers, and the broader community. Maintain reliable, consistent attendance and punctuality.

    • Qualifications: (*) Bachelor’s Degree (*) Valid CA Teaching Credential (single-subject credential in a core subject area) (*) Valid CA English Learner Authorization (*) TB Test clearance & DOJ fingerprint clearance (*)2+ successful years teaching students in the 7-12 grade range with a track record of advancing student achievement (preferred) (*) Complete familiarity with the CA Common Core State Standards (preferred) (*) An enthusiasm for curriculum development to support a growing school program (*) Possess/maintain valid Adult and Child CPR/First Aid/AED certification (*) As part of the application process, the applicant must provide HR with a complete list of all certificated assignments they have held at any and all District, Charter School or Local Educational Agency (LEA).
