Tulsa, OK 74135Position Overview The Assistant Coach is responsible to carry out the aims and objectives of the sport program as outlined by the Head Coach while using a demonstrated understanding of the educational and social mission and values of the school. To instruct athletes in individual and team fundamentals, strategy, and physical training necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success. Essential Job Functions Demonstrate a commitment to Catholic values and the promotion of the associated culture within a Catholic school Abide by the rules of the school, the sport, and the OSSAA, while demonstrating the teaching values, and the ethical and moral behavior in line with the mission of the school. Assist Head Coach in planning, scheduling information, providing transportation receipts and requirements for tournament and special events. Assist in the necessary preparation to hold scheduled sports events or practices and adheres to scheduled facility times. Coordinates program with maintenance and school employees. Provides proper safeguards for maintenance and protection of assigned equipment Provides training rules and other unique regulations of the sport to each athlete who is considered a participant. Provide assistance, guidance and safeguards for each participant by being present at all practices, games and while traveling Assists in maintaining, tracking and recording of equipment inventory. Assists in maintaining general cleanliness of locker rooms and sports facilities. Assists the Head Coach in carrying out their responsibilities. Instructs team members as to changes in the rules and teaches fundamentals of the sport as outlined by the Head Coach. Works within the basic framework and philosophy of the Head Coach of that sport. Attends all staff meetings and carries out scouting assignments as outlined by the Head Coach Helps in planning and implementing of both in-season, and out-of-season programs. Strives to improve skills by attending clinics and using resources made available by the Head Coach or school. Performs such other duties that are consistent with the nature of the position and that may be requested by the Head Coach, Athletic Director or Assistant Athletic Director.
