  • Madison Ridgeland Academy - Madison, MS 39110The Homework Express teacher will work with a group of 1st-8th grade students. The Homework Express teacher will ensure the safety of the children as they take them through a schedule of activities that includes: snack time, playground time, and homework.
  • Work hours are
  • Monday-Friday 2:30-6:00. Must be able to stand continuously for 1-2 hours, including 30 minutes outside. Must be able to lift 10 lbs. This job operates in a professional school environment. This position is active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping. The employee is required to reach with hands and arms above the head and reach forward. The operation of our school and Homework Express program depends on consistency in showing up and being on time.Qualifications Provide a warm, welcoming presence for the children, parents and co-workers. High school diploma or equivalent required. Must be at least 18 years of age. Experience working with children in a structured setting such as a school, childcare facility, church, etc. Must be able to work under pressure, while maintaining a positive attitude. Ability to follow oral and written directions. Must have organizational skills. Communicates effectively - conveys facts and information clearly in written and spoken communications. Embrace and connect with parents. Ability to maintain effective classroom management strategies. Possess awareness of the unique needs of young children and have appropriate expectations of their abilities. Represent the school in the larger community in a positive manner that reflects the values of MRA. Must be in good physical and mental condition. Ability to maintain effective relationships with students, coworkers, and parents/guardians. Be punctual and dependable. This is very important. Must be a positive role model for the children, high school students, co-workers and parents. Positive Role model on social media. Support the emotional and social development of children. Observe, monitor, and participate in children’s play activities. Assist with and monitor homework. Provide first aid to students as needed and ensure parents are notified when first aid is applied Comply with all school and program policies and procedures. Quiet voice when it comes to discipline.
