Varsity Cross Country Coach

Description Coach Cordova, Tennessee | Diocese of Memphis St. Benedict at Auburndale Catholic High School is seeking an enthusiastic and mission-aligned individual to serve as our Varsity Cross Country Coach. We are looking for a leader who is passionate about distance running and equally committed to forming young men and women of faith, character, and academic excellence.

Responsibilities

The Varsity Cross Country Coach will design and implement a comprehensive training program for varsity runners, oversee athlete conditioning, race preparation, and meet-day logistics, build a competitive and spiritually grounded team culture, work collaboratively with the Athletic Director on scheduling, travel arrangements, and program development, track student-athlete academic standing and eligibility throughout the season, and maintain clear and timely communication with parents, school staff, and administration.

Qualifications

Candidates must be practicing Catholics or individuals who fully support the Catholic mission of the school. A high school diploma is required; a bachelor's degree is preferred. Prior coaching or competitive running experience is strongly preferred. Candidates must possess strong interpersonal, organizational, and motivational skills, and must successfully complete a diocesan background check and all required Safe Environment training.

Compensation Compensation is commensurate with experience and follows the Diocesan stipend schedule for coaching positions.
