- SUPERVISOR: Program Director, Athletic Training GENERAL JOB FUNCTION The MSAT Program Third Faculty functions as an integral part of the MSAT Program. S/He serves as full time faculty and assists in the planning, organization, coordination, and management of the MSAT Program. STANDARD EXPECTATIONS To possess an understanding of and commitment to the University Mission. To be responsible for assisting the MSAT Program Director with development and implementation of policies and procedures for athletic training students. To be responsible for assisting the MSAT Program Director with the development and coordination of curriculum for students in the Athletic Training Program. To be responsible for instruction of MSAT curriculum. To be responsible for clinical instruction and supervision of athletic training students. To assist the CCE in recruiting strategies for prospective athletic training students to Cumberland University’s MSAT Program. To assist the CCE in marketing the MSAT Program to target audiences within the healthcare community to enhance its visibility. To assist in the development of overall objectives, determining short- and long- range goals; planning and implementing strategies to achieve goals for the MSAT Program. To oversee the Athletic Training Student Association (ATSA). To evaluate the effectiveness of services provided, and in collaboration with MSAT Program Director and faculty, devise techniques and methods of implementation consistent with national trends in the deliverance of overall athletic training student education. To ensure that the MSAT Program maintains its accreditation status by maintaining compliance and staying current with the standards and protocols set forth by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education. To collaborate with the MSAT Program Director on creating a network of healthcare providers willing to provide their services and expertise to the education of the athletic training students. To maintain professional competence through participation in continuing education programs. To provide PRN coverage for the Department of Athletics as needed for clinical supervision of MSAT students. To perform other duties/tasks as may be assigned and/or requested by the MSAT Program Director. DECISION MAKING AND MANAGEMENT On a regular and continuous basis exercises administrative judgment and assumes responsibility for decisions, consequences, and results having an impact on people, costs, and/or quality of service within the AT Program and/or the Rudy School of Nursing and Health Professions. Position directly supervises Preceptors and athletic training students.
