- Come and be part of a new season of growth as Mariners Church responds to God’s call in launching new congregations.Job DescriptionThe Ministry Coordinator is responsible for providing operational support by managing logistics, communication, and follow-up tasks to enable effective discipleship, guest-experience, and outreach ministries, reporting to the Discipleship & Guest Experience Pastor on the Congregation team.
- A full-time position, the schedule generally includes weekend services, meetings at our office in Irvine, and additional time during the week for a total of 40 hours.
- This position is nonexempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).This role will primarily serve on-site at Union Rescue Mission on Sundays, supporting ministry efforts and engaging directly with the community.
- During the week, the coordinator will work out of the Irvine office, collaborating with the team, preparing for upcoming services, outreach initiatives, and managing administrative responsibilities.ResponsibilitiesVolunteer CoordinationManage volunteer onboarding cycles, scheduling, and communicationsServe as primary point of contact for volunteer questions, needs, and recognitionData & SystemsMaintain and optimize the Rock database: update profiles, logs, and attendanceRun reports on volunteer engagement and guest-experience metricsWeekend SupportSet up and tear down service materials, check-in stations, signage, and hospitality areasAssist with on-site troubleshooting during servicesCommunications & ResourcingManage the congregation newsletter and social-media updatesAssist in managing and distributing training content for Rooted/Life Group leaders, Guest Services, and Outreach teamsDraft and send volunteer and guest updates about events and service opportunitiesAdministrative TasksPerform general team support for the Lead Pastor and Discipleship & Guest Experience PastorSchedule planning meetings, take notes, and track action itemsSupport budget tracking, purchase requests, and resource orderingQualifications1–3 years of experience in ministry coordination, volunteer management, or administrative supportStrong organizational skills and attention to detailExcellent written and verbal communication skillsProficiency in Rock (or similar CRM) and Microsoft Office/Google WorkspaceCustomer-service orientation and a collaborative, team-first mindsetBasic biblical literacy and alignment with Mariners Church’s mission and valuesAbility to work flexible hours, including weekends Physical DemandsLight work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds.Additional InformationAll Mariners Church Staff:All Mariners Staff:Love Jesus and call themselves Christians.Embrace a high biblical standard of personal conduct and lifestyle.Agree to and adhere to the church's statement of faith, leadership commitment, and position papers.Work during Christmas Eve and Easter services.Participate then facilitate Rooted once per ministry year.Attend Mariners Church.We believe the total combination of your pay, benefits, and opportunities aligned with your calling will ensure that you and your family are provided for.
