The Dental Assistant Complex Prosthodontics provides chairside clinical support to prosthodontic faculty within the dental school clinics. This role performs four-handed dental assisting during advanced restorative and prosthodontic procedures, prepares and maintains treatment operatories, and ensures compliance with infection control, radiation safety, and clinical safety standards. Reporting to the Director of Clinic, the dental assistant works closely with prosthodontists and clinical staff to ensure treatment rooms are properly prepared and procedures are supported safely and efficiently.
This position performs patient care duties within a clinical environment structured around a block-style curriculum, designed to support efficient delivery of treatment while advancing the educational mission of the dental school. In this model, students participate in focused clinical learning experiences while faculty provide direct patient care. The Dental Assistant plays a vital role in supporting advanced restorative and prosthodontic care, assisting with procedures ranging from crowns and bridges to full-arch treatment. Working within a higher-level clinical environment, the dental assistant collaborates directly with the prosthodontist and clinical team in the management of complex restorative cases in accordance with institutional, state, and federal regulatory standards.
