Core responsibilities
The speech and language pathologist is responsible for developing school-Wide systems for prevention, assessment, and remediation services to help children meet educational goals. This includes conducting diagnostics, managing therapy, developing appropriate individualized education programs (Ieps), and consulting with staff and parents.
Requirements summary
A master's degree is required, along with a louisiana state license in speech pathology and ahsa eligibility for ancillary certification as a school-Based slp. Preferred experience includes two or more years as a speech therapist in a school-Based setting, demonstrating success with students in an urban, open admissions school.
