Core responsibilities
The after school counselor is responsible for ensuring appropriate care, supervision, and guidance for children enrolled in the childcare program. Staff members must help provide a safe, clean, and nurturing environment while acting as positive role models.
Requirements summary
Candidates need either a school-Age child care credential or equivalent experience, plus one year working with children under 13, or an associate's degree in a related field or a high school diploma with two years of direct experience with children under 13. Applicants must also possess a valid new york state driver's license, the ability to transport children, basic computer skills, and must pass a criminal background check and medical clearance.
