Job description

​ 2024-25 Physical Therapist / Physical Therapist Assistant (10 Hours a Week Max - SC LLR License Required) The School-Based Physical Therapist supports scholars’ physical development and access to learning by providing therapeutic services that improve mobility, strength, and functional independence within the school environment. Key Responsibilities: Evaluate scholars to determine physical therapy needs related to educational access Develop and implement individualized therapy plans aligned with IEP goals Provide direct and consultative therapy services in classrooms and school settings Collaborate with teachers, families, and support staff to support scholar success Monitor progress, maintain documentation, and ensure compliance with special education regulations Support safe mobility, positioning, and use of adaptive equipment

Qualifications

Doctorate or Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy Valid state licensure as a Physical Therapist Experience in pediatric or school-based settings preferred Core Competencies: Strong collaboration and communication skills Commitment to whole-child development Flexibility, problem-solving, and a heart for service South Carolina LLR required for PT/ PTA; Valid out-of-state certification is also acceptable.
