THE OPPORTUNITY: Location: As Assigned Reports To: Director, Speech, Lanaguage, and Communication Services Compensation: Related Service Provider Salary Schedule Union: Cleveland Teachers Union 279 2026 - 2027 School Year Conducts speech, hearing, and language screenings, initial evaluations, and/or three-year re-evaluations as needed for individual children, preschool through age twenty-two in all public/non-public schools, as necessary, and all related duties Responsibilities Conducts speech, hearing and language screenings, initial evaluations and/or three-year re-evaluations as needed for individual children, preschool through age twenty-two in all public/non-public schools, as necessary Serves as a member of the educational team and as a liaison to the Office of Related Services, related agencies and the community Completes all mandated process and procedures including Individualized Education Program (IEP) development and Evaluation Team Report (ETR) documentation, as part of the Multi-factored Evaluation (MFE) process Provides classroom collaborative and/or direct speech-language therapy services to individual children as appropriate, in whatever is determined to be the Least Restrictive Environment (LRE) Develops communication skills programs for all children served: uses assistive technology and/or various other alternative/augmentative non-verbal/total communication strategies as appropriate to individual need Served as a resource person to all parents and staff Interfaces therapy services with school-based Academic Achievement Plans (AAPs) developing literacy skills, and with student performance on mandated proficiency exams Provides consultation and/or in-service for staff, parents and/or other speech-language pathologists regarding appropriate speech and language instructional strategies for classroom, home and/or community use Provides individual student services as mandated by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and if appropriate, as recommended by the American Speech/Language/Hearing Association Maintains accurate records, prepares and submits all required statistical reports as appropriate, including but not limited to federal child count data, hearing screening reports, state data requirements, final reports, Community Alternative Funding Services (CAFS) Medicaid documentation log forms, etc. Completes any additional duties as requested by the Office of Related Services Administrator and/or the Administrator(s) of the Division of Special Education Qualifications Valid Ohio Speech and Hearing Pathologist Department of Education Certificate/License Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology required; related field considered American Speech-Language and Hearing Association certification strongly preferred State of Ohio Licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist, required Potential for State of Ohio Professional Experience Year (PEY)/American Speech/Language/Hearing Association Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) Must be "Highly Qualified" in subject area.
