University Student Assistant - Police Communications Officer (Summer 2026 - Fall 2026)

The primary duties involve operating assigned radio frequencies and performing critical emergency communications tasks, including handling 9-1-1 calls and utilizing the alabama law enforcement telecommunications system (A.l.e.t.s.). Responsibilities also include maintaining necessary records, adhering strictly to departmental rules, and assisting with administrative tasks as needed.

Applicants must be currently enrolled jsu students taking a minimum of three credit hours per semester, maintaining a 2.00 gpa if not a first-Time student. Candidates must pass a thorough background check, have no felony convictions, meet alabama criminal justice center tele-Communicator licensing standards, and possess a valid driver's license.
