Experience supporting students identified with Significant Reading Deficiency (SRD) Experience writing and implementing Colorado READ Plans Experience using Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA) cycles to refine intervention groups Training and experience implementing high-impact reading intervention programs Experience analyzing literacy assessment data (e.g., universal screeners, diagnostic tools) to include: mCLASS Acadience (DIBELS) STAR Early Literacy STAR Reading Experience supporting Tier 2 and Tier 3 reading intervention Demonstrated success identifying and accelerating reading growth for struggling readers Position Overview: Banning Lewis Ranch Academy (BLRA) is seeking a highly skilled Reading Intervention Teacher passionate about ensuring every student becomes a strong, confident reader. BLRA is a K–5 charter school serving over 700 students in northeast Colorado Springs and is part of a K–12 system that includes Banning Lewis Preparatory Academy (grades 6–12). Our school community values relationships first, high academic expectations, and developing citizens of character. Our student population includes diverse learners, including students with individualized education plans, English language learners, gifted learners, and a large military-connected population. The Reading Intervention Teacher plays a critical role in supporting students who require targeted, intensive reading instruction, while collaborating closely with classroom teachers to ensure strong Tier 1 instruction and effective Tier 2/Tier 3 supports. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong expertise in the science of reading, a deep understanding of structured literacy practices, and a commitment to a collaborative approach that uses data to drive instruction and accelerate student growth. Key Responsibilities: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Provide targeted small group reading intervention for students requiring additional support Deliver explicit structured literacy instruction aligned with the science of reading Analyze assessment data to identify student needs and design intervention plans Progress monitor students regularly and adjust instruction based on results Support students identified with Significant Reading Deficiency (SRD) under the Colorado READ Act Collaborate with classroom teachers to align instruction and support student growth Provide training and ongoing support for classroom teachers related to diagnostic and progress monitoring data protocols Participate in MTSS meetings and intervention planning Maintain documentation of student progress and intervention outcomes, including writing and updating READ plans Communicate with classroom teachers and families regarding student reading progress when appropriate Support schoolwide literacy initiatives and reading growth goals, including coordinating assessment day Maintain intervention materials and instructional resources Why Join Us?
