Job description
- Overview A kind and busy downtown-based family of six is looking to add a full-time or par-time nanny to their team.
- The family has has four children (ages 4, 3, and 6-month-old twins) but the main focus will be the non-verbal 3 year old.
- The family already has one full-time caregiver and is in the process of adding another to their team.
- The role can be Monday through Friday or weekend hours and is completely open dependent on the candidates availability.
- They are looking for a candidate who is fluent in American Sign Language.
- The family is looking for the best and willing to compensate appropriately.
Responsibilities
The three-year-old has special needs and receives PT, speech therapy, and other supportive therapies, and a significant amount of time is spent taking to/from appointments and working on developmental goals at home - candidates will be expected to support this setup moving forward. Teach the child, parents and siblings ASL Work in partnership with the parents and all other providers Work with parents and providers to come up with best plans and practices for the child education and daily well-being All aspects of full-charge care when required Create structure and systems in the home to help develop independence implement the child's therapy and homework exercises, while also being lighthearted, positive, and able to make the time she has outside of therapy fun and exploratory. depending on full-time or part-time pitch in with light tidying and child related household task- there is a full-time housekeeper as well as 2 full-time nannies. Qualifications
Candidates should ideally have experience working with children with special needs or a background in fields such as physical therapy (PT), occupational therapy (OT), speech therapy, or special education. Drawing on this experience, they should be able to thoughtfully structure the toddler’s time and actively support his developmental progress.
